Susan, a palliative care chaplain, donated her kidney to a woman whose kidneys began to fail while she was in a refugee camp in Nepal. She heard about the woman, who had been sent to the United States for emergency medical attention, in her church bulletin. And she decided to volunteer. She turned out to be the only one who stepped forward.
